Can I sign up for a card virtually even though I live out of state?

Library cards are free for all Orleans Parish residents as well as those who currently have a valid library card from Jefferson and St. Bernard parishes. However, you can sign up online for a non-resident card for cost of $50 annually even if you are not eligible for a free Library card.
